It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction, and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day.” – 2Samuel 16:12
When David and his officials escapes from the hand of Absalom then came to the place named Bahurim, one of Saul’s relatives, Shimei son of Gera, came out to meet him, cursing him and started throwing stones at David and his officials. David did not do anything against him. David said let him curse, because the Lord has said to him, ‘Curse David.’ Who then shall say, ‘Why have you done so?’” The Lord told him to curse; so leave him alone and let him do it. When David was affiliated and put to shame he said that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day. Sometimes like David you may also passing through affiliation or people around you may plan to put shame on you. Believe that our Lord Jesus Christ will do good to you. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.(Rom 8:28) David is saying like this the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day. In other wise he is saying Lord will depart this affiliation and cursing through good. So whatever the affiliation, cursing, difficulties that God permits in your life, believe it that it’s for your good. Be patient and endure it. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!(Mat 7:11) After passing through the affiliation and cures David say about his experience that now God brought him to a fruitful place. You have caused men to ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water; But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.(Ps 66:12) So you may passing through affiliation and curses now, But you are on the way towards a fruitful place. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.(Heb 12:3)
Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. – 1 Timothy 6:17
